Sequoia National Park

     Located in the southern Sierra Nevada range, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks testifie to nature's size. Beauty and diversity in the huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, this landscape contains the world’s largest trees, the sequoia. measure in wood volume, the park contains five out of the ten largest trees in the world.

 

     The vast majority of the park is roadless. Designated as wilderness, 84% of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks is accessible only by foot or horse.  Mount Whitney, on the eastern edge of the park, at 14,491 feet is the highest mountain in the lower 48 states.
